1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Strop application (the "App"), operated by Strop ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. The Service

Strop is a task and habit-tracking application that helps you organize one-time and recurring tasks ("chops") alongside recurring behaviors with frequency targets ("strops") into a daily list. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, and we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use Strop, created via our authentication provider, Clerk (including via "Sign in with Google" as a login method). You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You must provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Strop offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock additional features. Key terms:

• Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and are subject to their respective terms and payment methods.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings or Google Play account settings — we cannot process cancellations or refunds directly, as these are handled by Apple/Google.
• If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription during the trial period.
• Prices are set within the App Store/Play Store and may vary by region; we may change subscription pricing with advance notice as required by the applicable platform's policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts; interfere with or disrupt the App's operation; or reverse-engineer or copy the App except as permitted by law.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the tasks, habits, and other content you create in the App ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the App. You're responsible for ensuring Your Content doesn't violate any law or third-party right.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends, though certain provisions of these Terms (e.g., limitation of liability) will survive.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Strop and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
