This Privacy Policy explains what information Strop ("we," "us," "our") collects when you use the Strop application (the "App"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Strop, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided) via our authentication provider, Clerk. If you choose to sign in with Google, Clerk receives basic profile information from Google (name, email, profile photo) to create your account — we do not access your Google Calendar, Gmail, or other Google Workspace data.
Content you create. We store the tasks and habits you create in the App (called "chops" and "strops"), including titles, descriptions, due dates, recurrence settings, and completion history, so the App can function and so your data persists across sessions and devices.
Subscription and billing information. If you subscribe to Strop, purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google's Play Store — we do not receive or store your payment card details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives purchase and entitlement information (e.g., which product you purchased, subscription status, renewal dates) from the App Store/Play Store on our behalf, and shares that status with us so the App can unlock the features you've paid for.
We use the information above to: provide and maintain the App; authenticate you and keep your account secure; sync your tasks and habits across your devices; process and validate subscriptions; respond to support requests; and improve the App's reliability and functionality. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your task/habit content to train any AI or machine learning model.
We share limited information with the following service providers, each acting on our behalf:
We do not currently use any advertising, analytics, or AI-processing third parties with access to your account or content.
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active, so the App can function as intended. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below; we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records (e.g., billing history).
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and secure credential storage — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Strop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated within the App where practical.
